Maverick Family, Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a relaxing and re-energizing holiday break. As we begin the second semester of the 2016-2017 school year, we will all need to get re-acclimated to the school routine after a 2 week break, with only 96 school days in the second semester we must hit the ground running. January is a busy time, our counselors will be busy preparing for guidance sessions they will have with each class in preparation for selecting course requests for 2017-2018 and assisting our seniors with graduation. Our incoming freshmen, current 8th graders, who represent the JMHS Class of 2021, will begin the course selection process with them visiting the campus. Classes resume tomorrow, January 5th, and students are to report to their Advisory class (not Mav Power Time) by 8:45 AM to receive his/her course schedule for the second semester. If students cannot remember their Advisory teacher, postings will be placed around campus for them to reference (also attached to this email). We will run a modified bell schedule in order for us to review important topics, and students will have the opportunity to attend each class. The only students that will be sent to the counseling office on Thursday are those that are missing a course in their new schedule. All other students will need to make an appointment in the counseling office before school, after school or during their lunch time. On Friday, we will run a regular bell schedule. We will also practice actual drills to remind students what to do during an emergency; the drills include lock-down, shelter in place, etc. As you plan your schedule for this week, please be sure to look at the campus calendar on our website for the variety of events offered throughout the week. Thank you for your continued support! We Are Madison! Sincerely, Dr. Debra Aceves
Proud of our student groups that participate in Friday Night Lights...Ag, Band, Color Guard, Spirit & Varsity Football Team.
